How Can Chronic Diarrhea While Having Diabetes Be Treated?

I AM A TYPE 1 DIABETIC. I STARTED HAVING SEVERE DIARRHEA IN MARCH. A COLONOSCOPY WAS GIVEN...REMOVED POLYPS AND TOLD ME I HAVE A SPASTIC COLON AND IBS-D. I HAVE BEEN PUT ON 3 DIFFERENT MEDICINES TO STOP THE DIARRHEA. NOTHING HAS WORKED. I M STARTING TO GIVE UP. I NOW WEAR DEPENDS ALL THE TIME BECAUSE I NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN. MOST SEVER AT NIGHT. SHOULDN T I HAVE MORE TESTS DONE? I ve lost 20 lbs (that didn t bother me) , but I am tired all the time, last night I slept 18 hours!!!! The healthcare stinks in my area!!!!

welcome to hcm ....i understand your problem ..IBS -D can be treated by drugs like loperamide and diphenoxylate ...otherwise drugs as SSRI as sertaline or paroxetine are also helpful in IBS D patients ..please switch to low FODMPS foods also ..as drugs given above are prescriptiondrugs please contact your local doctor he will prescribe these ...
