General & Family Physician 's  Response
Thank you for posting your concern on HCM.
I understand your dilemma and will help you.
From your history i understand that you are not expiriencing any other gastrointestinal symptoms like pain, abdominal distension, diarrhoea, blood in stools or dark stools etc. As such I am assuming your problem is diet related.
People who eat high fibre, high starch diet can experience increased flatulance. Eventhough the volume of gas produced is high, the flatus in this case is usually odourless. The foul odour of flatus is due to sulfur products usually produced during digestion of meat or milk products.
So try limiting the amount of fiber, meat and milk products.
See if this change in diet helps ypu. If not see a gastroenterologist for further evaluation. I hope I have satisfactorily answered your question.
Thank you.
