How Can Chronic Migraine And Dizziness Be Treated?
I am a chronic migraine patient and have received BOTOX treatments for three years. Tonight I have tightness/pain in the right side of my head (front and back) and neck. There is no loss or dimming of sight or dizziness. I have taken my blood pressure and it is roughly 160/99, PR 80. I have recently taken a new blood pressure medication (Lisinopril) after having taken Propranolol for over 20 years. I had an adverse reaction to the new medication and have a doctor s appointment tomorrow to discuss medications for blood pressure. Should I wait through tonight or does these symptoms require more immediate examination?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
There are three broad approaches to treating chronic migraine: lifestyle and trigger management, acute treatments (i.e. those taken during attacks or exacerbations of chronic pain), and preventive treatments (medication or other interventions designed to reduce the tendency to have attacks).
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
