Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was playing basketball today and one of my teammates ran into me by mistake. When I got up I felt fine. However, my right ear has clogged up and feels funny. I didn t play any mind to it and I finished the game. Hours later it is still clogged up not as bad as before but, it still feels funny. I know I shouldn t have continued to play. Is this permanent? Am I going to lose hearing in my ear?
I think it may be due to trauma to ear. In most of the cases it's temporary. Still kindly consult with ENT surgeon and do audiometry to check hearing ability and to rule out any trauma to inner ear. If everything is normal then take tablet Tylenol for pain.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale,
