How Can Clogged Ears Due To Cold And Cough Be Treated?

I am 36 yrs old and for past 6 weeks i am suffering from cold and cough. Two weeks ago during air travel my ears clogged and there was lot of pain. Since then the ears are continously clogged. i tried nasal drops which gave temp relief from cold but ears are still clogged and not able to listen. i tried top blow out but that also is not working out. it driving me crazy enough to seek help on internet at 0100 hrs in the night. pls advice

I have gone through your query and can understand..

As per your complain clogged ears along with pain with a history of cold and cough can be due to ear infection secondary to cold..
There can be fluid accumulation behind the ear drum leading to clogging that does not relieve on popping the ear..
You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
In case of infection you will be advised to take oral as well as ear drop antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Motrin or Aleve, take oral decongestants like Phenyleprine along with nasal sprays..
The physician can also drain out the fluid for faster relief..
