How Can Cold And Cough Along With Sore Throat Be Treated?

I have a developed a respiratory condition for about 6 days....that included running nose, itchy watery eyes, minor headache, violent cough, and severe sore throat......no fever, no colored mucus.....let it go for the first 3 days......day three taking musinex 2x/24 hrs, 2 days....getting better.....BUT.....can t seem to cough up all the flem from my lungs.....now weezing comes and goes....seems better and sometimes worse........no fever.....have an inhaler (albuterol suflate) if/when needed........any thoughts? otherwise healthy 58 year old w/m.....5 7 220lbs...mobile....work out regular

My thoughts and suggestions are as below.6 days of running nose, itchy watery eyes, sore throat, coughing and so on can be surely due to severe viral infection as the expectoration has no color and you do not have fever. Well, the basic treatment remains the same. Steam inhalation, Decongestant and cough suppressants. Send the blood and sputum for tests so that if there is any evidence of infection then a course of an antibiotic can help an early recover. Take bed rest. Avoid whether changes. Consult your Doctor for clinical evaluation, examination and further additional management.
