How Can Cold And Cough In A Newborn Infant Be Taken Care Of?

Sir my baby is of 20 days old ..suffering with cold & cough ... Our doctor prescribed omnocortil drops 0.4 ml twice a day ..and I used for 3 days but still the problem remains same ..can I continue dis medicine for few more days ? Pls suggest me sir .. I m nervous
