Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I work at a facility for senior citizens, its independent living. Just recently one of my residents was admitted to hospice and they said only 18% of her heart is working. Is this congestive heart failure? How much longer does she have. She is still living right now and was admitted last Monday.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Varinder's Response
Hello,
Please note that there are many patients who are having ejection fraction below 20.
And how much time, he will live, nobody can comment.
It may be congestive heart failure secondary to ischemic heart disease or hypertension.
Let me know if I can help you further in this query.
With Regards,
Dr Varinder Joshi.
