Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I would recommend you to use myralax (polyethylene glycol) regualuary as the doctor has recommended.
Also taking extra fiber with food like fruit and vegetable (pears and plums have a lot of fiber) and taking small amounts of bread (bread makes constipation worse) and pasta and avoiding fast food or junk food.
Drinking plenty might be of help and also trying to be active as much as she can.
Lactulose syrup can be added if these do not help enough, she can take 1 table spoon twice a day, it softens the stools and helps with bowel movement.
If no better with these bisacodyl can be started but it is generally a doctor that should prescribe it and should not be used for long time as it causes dependence (meaning you will feel the need to use it regularly and depend on it).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards,
Antoneta Zotaj, MD
