How Can Constipation In An Infant Be Treated?
My baby is four weeks old he has been straining without success he has been very fussy in his sleep and he wakes up crying quite a lot because he cannot push his stools have been less frequent they have been soft but not soft enough to be diarrhea I breast once a day he mostly drinks formula between 2-3 hours I cannot produce much milk. I believe he is constipated I was recommended by his pediatrician to massage his tummy and give him gas relief drops I have not seen much improvement is there anything else I can do or natural safe remedies I can give to him? in neonates its not a constipation that either they are not passing stool every day or 2,3 dyas its normal in neonates and infants due to bowel movement which is steady process and came in power after some time so its better mother feed than bottle because mother feed prevent from lot of abdominal problems gas issues and alter bowel habits and to give himm natural immunity too.
belly massage and colic drops are also effective.
