How Can Cough And Chest Congestion In A Child Be Treated?
My son has got bad cough since 3days he is 7 years old i have given him salbutamol syrup 3 times a day for 3 days in between he also had fever so had given calpol every four hours so no fever now but still there is cough & little chest congestion. So can i nebulize him???
Your child has symptoms of cough and chest congestion which is due to severe upper respiratory tract infection and due to poor immune system of body.
You should visit pediatrician once and get it examined. You should get X-ray chest done. You should go for pulmonary function tests as well to check exact level of infection. Your child need bronchodilators and antihistamine medication. Yes mild nebulization can be given to child with proper care. You should avoid giving any cold carbonated beverages to child and use mist humidifiers in room. Take steam several times a day, which will be very helpful.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
