How Can Cough And Cold Be Treated?

I have been coughing a lot for months now. I have a lot of drainage. I checked with my pharmacy today and was told that the 3 meds I am taking do not have coughing as a side effect. I also pick up colds easily, maybe one every few months. Any suggestions?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

* The recurrent cough with cold can be underlying respiratory infection, allergy related to low immunity or other issues.
* I recommend to undertake a systemic evaluation with a clinician rather than taking OTC medicines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
