How Can Cough And Itching In The Eyes Be Treated?

Hello, we bought a house several years ago and it turns out that the previous owner installed new dry wall after he put the new carpeting in. The drywall dust is embedded in the carpet and even steam cleaning has not helped much. I have developed a constant cough, dry, itchy eyes and sneezing. It s keeping me from sleeping at night due to coughing. What can I do, other than rip out all the carpet and start fresh? I can t go on this way.

Hello! Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

There I have read through your question and understand your concern. You are suffering from allergic bronchitis and as you have assumed it is because of the dry wall dust. Till the time you get rid of the source, you will keep on having repeated episodes. Till then you can start an over-the-counter antihistamine like Levocetrizine 10 mg, twice daily.

I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions, please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Nazma.amman, General & Family Physician
