Hello,

Thanks for your query on HCM

"As"per your clinical history is concerned please follow like this -

1)Do a clinical exam by your Doctor [pulmonologist]and do a complete blood count with differential to confirm the cause of coughing.

2)You can give OTC cough syrup and take right treatment after investigation only and if any bacterial infection is present then you can give [azithromycin] like this -

>6 mth 10 mg/kg
15-25 kg- 200 mg
26-35 kg- 300 mg
36-45 kg- 400 mg. All doses to be taken once daily for 3 days only.

Do follow few lifestyle modification like this -

1)Try to avoid cigarette smoke.

2)Do take a yearly flu vaccine can help protect you from getting the flu. You may also want to consider vaccination that protects against some types of pneumonia.

3)To reduce your risk of catching a viral infection, wash your hands frequently and get in the habit of using hand sanitizers.

4)Wear a surgical mask when you go outside.

Hope that helps
