Hi I am trying to help my 26 year old grandaughter . She has had many breakouts since she was around 6 yrs old. She has been too many doctors as she has got older but they give her steroids aqnd antibiotics and sores with a yellowish seeping and she is always having a hard time sleeping.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of cystic acne on body which is severest form of acne and it occurs when a pore in your skin gets clogged, usually with debris, bacteria and dead skin cells and causing area to be red and swollen. I would suggest you to exfoliate gently once or twice a day with a salicylic acid-based exfoliant. Apply benzoyl peroxide cream or gel for killing the bacteria in the pore. It could be due to hormonal change during puberty , androgen hormones stimulate more sebum to be produced and a greater amount of skin cells to proliferate. If condition doesn't improve in a week then consult dermatologist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may prescribe chemical peeling and laser therapy.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
