How Can Dark Phlegm Caused By Cannabis And Cigarettes Be Treated?
Hi doctor. I have been smoking for the past 17 years. I have also been smoking obscene amounts of cannabis because I have self-destructive tendencies. In essense, I can smoke up to 30 marijuana cigarettes a day and an equal amount of cigarettes. I now am on the road to quitting for good and have been running daily. I cough up dark specks in a phlegm after exercise. I place myself now in God's hands but I still need to advise and knowledge of a doctor. Please sir/madam, advise me
Ah, this is a well known phenomena. Good news. It is because you are getting WELL that the dark phlegm is getting up. The protective lining of the lung is removed by smoking. It takes a LONG time for it to grow back. WHen it does, it starts to remove bad deposits in the lungs. This is ESPECIALLY true with running, which opens up the lungs and further increases the area that is actually breathing. Parts which were not getting used, not getting air, open with the running and whatever was down there is coming up and out. Good !
