How Can Dehydration Be Treated?

My 12 year old son has been dehydrated lately and drinking therefore urinating more than usual. He has a mild to moderate appetite, no fever and the heat seems to bother him. More content home in AC then outside since we live in Florida. Seems more tired than usual but when I ask he says he feels fine. He is thin and has lost weight over past few weeks. One person told me he has bacterial infection, one said diabetes, I of course will take him to see someone tomorrow but now my mind is racing with unknowns. I have been giving him water and gatorade for dehydration but skin is normal and not loose to pinch. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thank you!

Hello ,

No need to worry for diabetes or bacterial infection as he is not having fever or chills. But thorough clinical examination is needed to rule out dehydration. Since his skin is normal no need to worry for dehydration. Just give him plenty of fluids. Take him to doctor tomorrow for evaluation. Till that time, be relax and calm.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
