How Can Dementia Along With Mood Swings And Hallucinations Be Treated?
my sister is dx with dementia with mri. taking risperidone .5 mg. 2x/day she continues to be with continuous mood swings, accusing people of stealing her belongings, afraid to be alone, psychotic at times. Visual hallucinations. Her doctor just started her on memenda, she is refusing other diagnostic tests; e.g. pet scan She is a danger to herself and others, we are so concerned....... YYYY@YYYY
Hello In case where dementia is associated with severe behavior problems, an adequate dose of antipsychotic is required. If she is not responding to 1mg of dispersions, it's dose should be increased gradually till she is able to tolerate it. Talk to your doctor about this. Thanks.
