How Can Diabetes Along With Congestive Heart Failure Be Treated?

My husband is a diabetic and suffers from congestive heart failure. He also has physoris, (miserably misspelled) We went to his primary doctor and he prescribed predizone (also mispelled!) He has taken four 10 mg tablets for two days. As a result of this medication, he sugar has gone through the roof and he is retaining water. We want to discontinue this medication as soon as we can. My understanding is that he has to be weened off of this he just can t quit. How do we proceed. Our primary care doctor s office is closed, normally they have an after hours number to call, but someone put on the wrong recording and their mailbox is full! Please advise. He had a severe stroke in May and was until now making progress.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

What medications you are taking for diabetes? First Check your sugar level and try to bring down through your usual medications or if it's very high, Get an opinion and shift to insulin.

Once your sugar level is in normal your other issues will be normal. Discontinue taking Tab. Prednisone and apply Coal tar ointment on the scaly patches [psoriasis].

I suggest you take Tab. Clopilate with a consultation with your doctor to prevent further stroke.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
