How Can Diabetic Neuropathy In The Feet Be Treated?

I am taking gabapentin 300mg at bedtime. I am finding that I am tired all the time. I cannot get through a day without a nap. I am taking this for diabetic neuropathy in my feet. My feet are still bothering me, but I want to stop taking this to see if this is what is affecting me being so tired. Is it safe to stop this medication suddenly?

Hello,

No, gabapentin is to be stopped very slowly not suddenly. Or it will have withdrawal effects. So just try to skip one or two doses or reduce the dosage to half and then try decreasing to the minimum and then stop.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
