Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
It started me month ago when I got diarrhea right after I ate. I would have extremely painful cramps right before, and then after letting it out of my system I would sorta feel better. Over the past week I’ve had more symptoms like being nauseous, faint, weak and much more. When I do eat I get full after only a couple bites. I don’t have a good appetite and I’ve lost about 7 pounds. I constantly feel like I’ve been run over by a truck. I went to the doctor, but blood and urine test don’t come back for a while. I want to know what’s wrong, and what I should do about it.
Your symptoms indicate a liver infection, most probably hepatitis A. You did not give details of the blood test but a comprehensive liver function test should be done as soon as possible.
You should start taking bland diet and no fat for the time being. Take at least 100 grams of glucose daily and be on rest as far as possible. Further advice can be given only after seeing the test report.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Prabhash Verma
