How Can Diverticulosis Be Treated?

I was diagnosed with diverticulosis and dr gave me script for moxIfloxacin. it is very expensive - I am on Medicare with out a prescription plan-using RX card and member card with pharmacy. what other antibiotic can I take. I am very thin - most diets are for folks who are overweight. I cannot lose any more weight.

Hello and thanks for your question

The best way to treat it is to avoid constipation.
First of all include fruits,vegetables, whole grains and beans in your everyday diet.
Drink plenty of fluids.
You can take a fiber supplements as Metamucil
Exercise regularly
As a antibiotic you can use amoxicillin/clavulanic acid monotherapy instead of moxifloxacin.
