How Can Dizziness And Breathing Difficulty While Suffering From CKD Be Treated?
Good evening. I have been diagnosed with Stage 4 CKD, and I am experiencing some expected trouble breathing and dizziness; I was prescribed (and have taken) 50 mg of Hydralazine (3x) since yesterday afternoon. I am also taking Diltiazem (360mg) once daily for very high blood pressure, prior to my expected surgery for a fistula implant in May, 2018. My current BP is reading 156/72--Pulse 77 ; this is down from 189/90--Pulse 83 , recorded yesterday at the V.A. Nephralogy Clinic in Sacramento, CA. Based on this information, can you tell me an expected period of adjustment of the medication, to lessen the headache pressure and dizziness.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You are a pt. Of chronic kidney disease and you have breathing problem. There are two causes that causes breathlessness in CKD
1) Pleural effusion (fluid in lung coverings). Get done your chest x ray for this.
2) Uremic lung disease. Get done your blood urea level for this. Do not change your medicines without consulting your physician.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
