How Can Dry Cough And Chest Congestion Be Treated?
I don’t know what wrong, but I can’t lay down in my bed to sleep at night when I get into my bed I start to consistent dry cough I can hear mucus all I my chest and lung Weasley if I am sitting up I don’t cough so I been sleeping in my chair for three days.
As per your query you have symptoms of a dry cough and chest congestion which seems to be due to severe upper respiratory tract infection leading to Bronchitis.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you do: - Do warm saline gargles with pinch of salt water. - Take a cough expectorants and steam inhalation as it is very effective for you. - Mast cell stabilizer such as sodium cromoglycate is effective to prevent infection.
You should consult an ENT specialist without any delay. The Doctor may order a blood test, a throat swab test and pulmonary function test to detect the level of infection.
The Doctor may prescribe antibiotics amoxicillin or penicillin at least for 10 days along with decongestants and mucolytic agents.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
