How Can Dry Cough Be Treated?

I m being treated for sinus infection and asthma. I m having a dry non productive cough. Started prednisone yesterday Dr first told me 10 Mg 1x day ten days. But lung Dr told me go up to 20 Mg 5 days and then 10 Mg five days. I have diabetes too so just one does 10 Mg yesterday put it up to 300 my sugar before that was 92 Today my sugar before prednisone was144 so I took one 10 Mg. Still feel like I need to add another one but scared about my sugar

Hello,

Diabetic patients with bronchial asthma who are on steroids may need required to increase the dose of insulin. Always benefits are outweighing risks then you can use otherwise no need.

For dry cough, use water vapor inhalation, salt water gargling thrice a day for five days.

You can use Defcort drug in place of Prednisolone. Use bronchodilator twice a day for two weeks. You can also use Montelukast and Levocetirizine at night for one week.

If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor, he/she will examine and treat you accordingly.
