How Can Dysphagia Be Treated?

I am suffering from what I believe is dysphagia. Long term situation which is becoming worse. Chocking upon eating and food gets stuck in my upper chest and cause me to choke and/or vomit. Has increased in frequency and is becoming a real problem. My mother had this issue I believe and it had something to do with the lower valve of the esophagus. What should I do?

Hello,

Are you alcoholic? Suffering from acid reflux? Possible causes are esophagitis due to acid reflux or it may be due to achalasia cardia or diffuse esophageal spasms etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Use tablet Pantoprazole before breakfast for one week. avoid cool drinks and freeze water avoid smoking and caffeine drinks. If symptoms not improved please consult your gastroentrologist he will examine and do upper GI endoscopy then treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
