How Can Ear Ache And Tinnitus Be Treated?

Hi, I had grommets fitted in both my ears 2 days ago. They told me I had pressure build up and grommets would equalise this. The left ear seems ok but the right ear was very painful when the grommet was fitted and since then my hearing is muffled and I can hear my heartbeat whooshing sound in my right ear all the time, very loud indeed. After the grommets were fitted I had terrible vertigo so bad I couldn t stand and had to be given an injection to stop me being sick. It s really starting to worry me. Is this normal and why is it only my right ear causing problems? Will it stop soon? Please help as at the hospital they didn t give any info on side effects. I m female 52 years old. Thank you.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As of now you can take analgesics like paracetamol along with betahistine for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persists you can consult an ENT specialist and get evaluated. We have to rule out possibilities like middle ear problems in that case.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
