Hi,

Blocked ear with fluid coming out is usually due to otitis media that is infection in the middle ear cavity with perforation of eardrum. The routine treatment under the guidance of your regular Doctor is a course of an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and decongestant. Anti-fungal ear drops if there is fungus overgrowth.

If these do not help much then it is advisable to consult an ENT Surgeon for proper clinical evaluation, examination and relevant investigations as needed. Once a proper diagnosis is done then it is easy for a specific treatment. It take a lot oftimefor complete resolution hence you may need treatment for a long time, say up to 3 weeks. Complete the treatment till cured.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
