How Can Ear Congestion Be Treated?

My ear canal feels as if it s plugged up. I have tried putting oil drops in and holding my head at an angle for the oil to do it s job but it still is plugged and I have a hard time hearing out of my right ear. It has a slight ache to it but not to bad. Any suggestions for how I can clear up my ear?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hi,

Regarding your concern, I would explain that the ears drainage is in the internal part of the nose.

For this reason, I would recommend using nasal drops as a decongestant to help improve ear congestion.

Ear drops will not help. They are usually used only in external ear infections.

If your symptoms persist, despite nasal drops, I would recommend consulting with an ENT specialist for a physical exam.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
