How Can Ear Congestion Be Treated?

Hi! I had this serious blockage on my right ear and visited an ENT, was told I needed ear syringing. I did an it cleared. but currently have slight fullness and speak as if under water or from my right nose. I am on some drugs like kambid 500, stugeron, actifed, cetin, vit C, Sinufed, etc. but am still having that muffled hearing and speaking as from a gun barrel. it is so inconveniencing and its making me more introverted and worried. I saw earpopper online. is it safe fir me to use it? I reside in Nigeria. thank you so much and I hope to her you soon. Arthur Uwagie.

Hi Dear,

As per your query you have symptoms of ear congestion which is due to ear infection middle ear, could be due to earwax buildup and due to pressure build up leading to eustachian tube dysfunction. Need not to worry about it. I would suggest you to visit Otolaryngologist immediately and get evaluated and start treatment after proper examination. Get all the lab tests done and examination with otoscope. You should take antibiotic Ciprofloxacin along with Ibuprofen. You should put Otogesic ear drops 2-3 times a day. You should take proper rest. Try to avoid pricking it with any sharp object as it can leads to ear drum penetration and rupturing. Ear popper will not be much useful to your condition as it will help in temporary way only. You should avoid sleeping on this side.
