How Can Ear Infection And Body Ache Be Treated?

My dgtr had a fever 2.5 wks ago w body aches and pains that turned into laryngitis and developing ear infections. She finally was treated w a week s dose of amoxicillin. One week later, (yesterday), she now has a rash over her entire body, started out looking like bumps, but now is patches of redness . She has 100 degree temp. Rash burns, is not itchy. Her tongue is whitish. She is not here w me, she lives in Boston, is 31 yrs old. She is tired. She saw a dr today at her Family Practice office, they drew blood , said her spleen and liver were enlarged a little (2 wks ago, mono test was negative). They gave her no tx for symptoms, said they wanted her to see an infectious disease specialist with whom they made an appointment (10 days away); really? What do you think?

As per your query your daughter have ear infection and body ache which seems to be due to fungal infection, wax build up, fluid accumulation, eustachian tube dysfunction and systemic disease infection. Body ache can also occur due to viral fever. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles , take steam twice a day and apply warm dry compresses to external ear . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may examine by otoscopic means to check level of infection. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics amoxicillin at least for a week along with decongestants. Put Otogesic ear drops. You should go for audiometer testing as well to check hearing level.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
