How Can Ear Infection With Blood And Discharge Be Treated?
Hi, My 6 year old who swims 4 days a week has ear infection. It started 2 days ago and he s on Azithromycin now. Since last night there is a yellowish discharge from his ear and has a little blood in it as well. Can he take a shower? When is it safe to go back to his swimming?
It is very important not to enter the water in his ears. Insert a clean cotton wool plug (smeared with a little vaseline) into the affected ear in order to keep any water out. He can go swimming after therapy but he should use a bathing cap or removal earplugs.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
