Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I started feeling an ache in my right ear on Sunday afternoon. Soon after it was accompanied by a sharp stabbing pain every couple minutes. This continued through yesterday. After continued doses of Ibuprofin, the stabbing pain eased up but the dull ache was still there. Last night the pain returned but felt like it was coming from my head, right above my ear. Also, when I drank anything, I could feel it running down along side my ear canal. Earlier today when I sneezed a heard a loud, quick whistle sound and my ear popped. It felt better after that, just a little sore. Now the ache is coming back and so is the pain in my head above my ear. My ear feels a little clogged up and it feels like there is some drainage in my ear canal. Do you have insights as to what it may be and how I can treat it? Thank you.
