How Can Eczema On The Lower Abdomen Be Treated?

I have been diagnosed with ezcema for many years. I recently had a significant outbreak in thesame place as always - lower right belly. A dermatologist prescribed betamethasone dipropionate ointment which I took as prescribed for 4 days with no significant improvement. The same dermatologist gave me a cortisone shot. No help. Now she has prescribed valacyclovir HCL 1 grm tablet 3x/day for 7 days. What should I expect from this med?

@ Valacyclovir is anti-viral drug used as main stay management of herpes
lesions & other viral infections .
@ I strongly recommend to apply Calamine lotion 3 times a day with
excellent outputs.
# prophylactic dose of fluconazole (150)mg once at night for 2 days
# avoid exposure to direct sunlight
# diet rich in multivitamins , anti-oxidants, minerals, trace elements,protein
# wear clean , dry , cotton clothes
# keep the part clean , dry
# avoid silk, terry cotton clothes , tight fitting pants
# avoid smoking / alcohol
