A few years ago I was diagnosed with edema in my legs and feet but I m only experiencing excessive swelling in my lef foot and ankle the most. The only medication I take since 2010 is .5 mg of amlodipine. I ve tried drinking more water, lying down elevating my foot, etc. What should I do?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

In my opinion the edemas you're experiencing are caused by Amlodipine that you take for high blood pressure. It comes a time when this side effect is very common with this drug. I would advice you to check your blood pressure and consult with a doctor in office to control your blood pressure with another drug more appropriate.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
