How Can Elevated Blood Pressure Levels Be Treated?

Just did...where did it go? Have blood pressure problems, am 85, pacemaker, top @ too high, bottom too low... Cardiologists (2 different @ different times) prescribed (excuse spelling) Metropole and Amlopidine. Now told to take 2 5 mg Amlopodine in AM and 1 before bed along with another Amlopidine and a Metropoloe. Blood pressure scarringly high at times; hard to get in with busy Dr. Internet sources say wrong meds altogether. ????

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Both Amlodipine and Metoprolol are medications used to treat high blood pressure. Continue the medications as prescribed. Follow DASH (Dietary approach to stop hypertension) and exercise regularly (walking for at least 30 minutes).

Regards
Dr. Lekshmi
