How Can Essential Thrombocytosis Be Treated?

i was diagnosed with essential thrombocytosis back in march. the doctor put me on hydrea which brought down my RBC so low i needed 2 blood transfusions.I stopped taking it, for awhile i recently was put back on it, and still bringing down my RBC .he now put me on Anagrelide and still wants me to take the hydra. I don t want to! what should i do?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

Essential thrombocytosis is myeloproliferative neoplasm. To bring down platelet count low and to prevent thrombosis secondary to it hydroxyurea and angrelide is useful. So after your HB level comes to normal you should take both these medication to treat your neoplasm.
