Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Excessive Burping And Abdominal Bloating Be Treated?
Who can help my daughter? She is constantly burping and feels bloated. She has had ultrasounds , blood tests and endoscopy - all results are normal. No one can give her answers to how she can get relief from the constant burping. I am afraid she is damaging her oesophagus as she experiences burning sensation in her throat.
It is important to know the age of your daughter. Burping can have a physical and psychological cause in adults. She may also have any nerve related condition that is stimulating constant burping.
The esophagus is likely not going to be significantly affected due to burping too much, however, the condition needs to be controlled.
You might discuss with your doctors in detail and seek help from your nearest health center and try if behavior modification can help.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Vivek Chail, Radiologist
