How Can Excessive Saliva Condition Be Treated?

I sometimes choke on my sailva while awake. I have not been diagnosed with an excessive saliva condition and do not experience heart burn. Any suggesttions on how to make it stop?

The coughing from the choke sounds horrible and gives people the impression that I am sick.
