Hi, I ve been experiencing more vaginal secretions than what I usually get while playing sports. My underwear get very wet fast and it s been really annoying to deal with. I tried using tampons (even though they kind of hurt because I m still virgin) during my practices but it moves around alot and causes sensitivity and makes my legs shake because of that. What should I do? is this normal?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Physiological white discharge will be usually watery to mucoid in nature and can be seen in Conditions like premenstrual phase, during ovulation etc. If discharge is of altered color and if is associated itching, burning etc, the possibility of pathological discharge should be suspected. Measures like:
Using vaginal washes like clingen wash, Vygene wash etc twice a day. Avoid using alkaline soaps, Dettol etc for local cleaning. Use cotton inner wear and change twice a day. Panty liners are preferable compared to tampons. If discharge persists even after taking these measures, better to consult your gynecologist once get examined to rule out any infection.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
