General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

If the pain gets intolerable and damage to the foot or nerve is severe, you may need surgery. Get examined and evaluated, the procedures used are arthrodesis, excision, osteotomy, synovectomy, tendon transfer or grafting bone to the foot to make the arch rise. The treatment will depend upon the damage and its severity.

In the meantime, you can take NSAIDs, Ibuprofen, physical therapy, stretch exercises, avoidance of undue stress, wearing shoe modifications, braces or other orthotic devices.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K,
