My boyfriend has enlarge fatty liver, severe hiccups that can last for several days even when he s sleeping. Acid reflux diagnosis with Barrows Esphogus(no cancer cells at this time). With valves in lower heart that leak where not all the blood leaves the chamber (also his heart is very large). He just had fundalplication completed last Friday. Hiccups are still present. With those symptoms...can you tell me where are we suppose to start first? He is 230lbs, 6 4 , maybe 12% body fat, just turned 65 years old.
Hiccups may be due to irritation of diaphragm or phrenic nerve. Fatty liver also may present like this. Use tablet Baclofen twice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
