Recently my PCP referred me to a Gastroenterologist as I have indication of fat in my liver. The Gastroenterologist had an MRI taken of my abdomen & I am scheduled to have a consultation with him Sept 20th to discuss the results of the MRI. His nurse called me, & although could not be specific with me, did indicate that I had liver damage. In the mean time I was told about the product Milk Thistle that I understand does serve to detoxify the liver & encourage regeneration of the liver. Consequently I asked our local Pharmacist if this product would interact with any of my maintenance medications. She was unable to help me. Hence I am trying to find out information via this web site. Currently I do take Warfarin , Losartan , Metformin , Levothyroxine , Omeprazole , & Cholestyarmine oral suspension . My PCP has had me on different Statins for several years but a little over 2 months ago took me off of Statins & put me on the Oral Suspension. Basically my question is would taking the Milk Thistle be of any benefit or could it be detrimental? Thank you, Tony Mantle
