How Can Fecal Impaction Be Treated?

I think I may have an impacted bowel, but I m not sure if it s that or just constipation. I keep feeling like I have to go, and it s right there but feels too large to come out, I am not in pain (except it s uncomfortable to sit... hemorrhoids) I do feel a bit queasy, and when I attempt to go all I get is a little bit of leakage can I safely give myself an enema at home?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on your description, it is advisable for you to consult Surgeon and get clinically examined before trying anything on your own.

Per rectal examination would reveal what could be the cause and treated accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ashakiran S, General & Family Physician
