How Can Fever Along With Body Ache And Swollen Ankles Be Treated?

i was diagnosed by my primary care physician last Wednesday with strep. He prescribed amoxicillin twice a day for 10 days. Since that time my fever has fluctuated between 100.6 and 101, the muscles hurt all over my body, left chest area, lower back, neck, hands and now my ankles are very swollen. Do I need to seek medical attention ( my dr is out of town til next week)?

Hello dear. As far as I can see you have developed rheumatoid fever. It happens after a non well treated streptococcal infection. It has join pain that migrants muscle pain chest pain,heart murmur, fatigue etc. You have to do blood test for antibodies af streptococ gr A and also heart electrocardiogram and heart ultrasound. The treatment is penicillin to fight streptococ and antiinflamatories for pain. Also doctor will recommend you prevention treatment in future. Best regards.
