How Can Fever And Cough While Suffering From Down Syndrome Be Treated?

Hi. My daughter is down syndrome. . She has a cardiac issue of av canal avsd.. she is suffering from fever as well as she has a cough problem.. which happened in night.. i hav concerned with many dictors bt still she has same problem of cough please suugest something

I can understand your concern.people with down syndrome are definitely prone to many respiratory infections.as per the mentioned symptoms,i suspect a lower respiratory tract infection.for confirmation,she needs to be examined by an expert physician and if necessary, a chest x-ray may be advised.please do not neglect any respiratory infection in your child as she also has a cardiac problem.i could have suggested medication especially antibiotic for your daughter if you had mentioned her weight or at least her age.as you haven't mentioned if the cough is dry or productive,i'm unable to suggest some cough syrup.for fever,you can go for Acetaminophen every 6hrly for >12yrs of age.hope you understand the importance of clinical examination by an expert chest physician.any further queries,please do not hesitate to write to us.we assure a prompt reply.
