My daughter is 8 year old. She was having fever between 101-102 for 8 days despite of MOXCLAV 475 medicine. Doctor asked for XRAY and find out pneumonia. She was given Linosept IV 125 ml twice a day and Pulmosef 750 twice a day for 7 days. On seventh day again fever 101, doctor sating it is viral infection. is it normal? or any point of concern?
In pneumoniaIV antibiotic can be given if oral antibiotic is not working. Sputum gram stain examination and sputum culture can be done for further evaluation, if your condition does not improve.
By sputum culture, causative organism can be identified.
Hope this solves your concern.
Take care
