How Can Fever Be Treated?

I am suppose to have open heart surgery in a little over a week. I have had a fever for sometime trying to figure out what is wrong even went to the dentist to have a tooth fixed. But came home and still am running a fever of 99-100. I am desperate as I have been waiting for this surgery for a long time and am to the point I am bed and chair ridden as my heart can t take it. The thing I need to know is what is the next step to take? Thank you. Bernadine
