How Can Flatulence Be Treated While Suffering From Hiatal Hernia?
I was diagnosed with Hiatal Hernia. Over the last 2 months I have had the following episode. Wake up with a bad headache. 2) burping up very foul smelling air. Almost the smell of stool. 3) alot of nausia. Then have to run to the toilet and vomit. Very violent vomiting. The vomit tastes like it has a lot of pepper in it tho I dot eat spicy foods. Then at the same time diarea. After I get out of the bathroom I have oe or two more episodes like this and then a lot of gas. I will pass gas often for the next 3 or 4 days. Very nasty smelling gas.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Based on your history, I think you have gastroesophageal reflux due to hiatal hernia you are diagnosed with. You may try antacids which are OTC drugs or any prescription after a visit to your primary doctor. If drugs don't work, then surgery to repair the hernia is needed, but that should be consulted after the visit to a surgeon.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
