How Can Flu Along With Shortness Of Breath Be Treated?

I am getting over the flu - I am on the 4th day of 5 days of antibiotics - but since the beginning of finding out I have had the flu - I have this uncontrolled sensation in my chest of what feels like anxiety but it makes me lose my breath for a second- it s been random the last few days but it has gotten worse today -it happened least a few dozen times just today. Is this related to my flu symptoms? I feel better than when I first got this flu, but It s a little startling - but is painless. I feel fine, except for this uncontrolled sensation - it also forces a wheez out of me at times depending on how strong it is.

Hi,

You say you are better from other symptoms of flu except for frequent shortness of breath with sort of anxiety & wheezing breath...

This suggests either real anxiety & fear for complications of flu/bronchitis-like symptoms/heart involvement. These need to be scrutinised & excluded (to give you psychological relief)/confirmed by detailed physical examination & investigations followed by specific treatment. Please see your doctor/ER earliest.

Till then Do not panic, take rest, try to practise long breathing, drink sufficient water & continue with medicines. You can take over the counter tab. Derriphylline after light food.
